Travel/Set Up

Are you ready for a week of red rock, exploring, and fun?! We are!! We will load our gear and hop onto Archie this morning and head south for fun in the sun. Along the way, we will will eat our sack lunches and enjoy hanging with our friends new and old. Before long, we will arrive at our beautiful Sand Hollow Campground and set up camp.

Sand Hollow Exploring/ Swimming

We will have a super awesome afternoon swimming and exploring a really cool reservoir surrounded by red rock. When our tummies start to growl, we'll fix a filling dinner of hot dogs, hamburgers, and all the fixins! YUM! The stars will be spectacular as we settle down for the first night of this fun travel adventure.

Tuesday

Zion National Park/Weeping Rock

It's ZIONS OR BUST this morning, but not until we've had a delicious breakfast of french toast, sausage, fruit, and chocolate milk! It will be a relaxing drive on Archie to reach the beautiful Zion National Park, where we will head straight to to the Visitor Center and Museum. There we will learn a little about the amazing things the park has to offer. After that, we'll hop aboard a shuttle and head up the canyon to take a short walk to see the incredible Weeping Rock. It's a natural wonder and you won't believe your eyes when you see the water pouring out off the cliff side...it's pretty magical, especially when you walk under it and get a refreshing shower!

Canyoneering at Orderville Canyon Narrows

Next we will head back to Archie so we can take the short drive to Orderville Canyon to do some canyoneering. On the way, we'll have our yummy sack lunches that we made this morning. The afternoon will fly by as we explore the canyon, and before you know it, we'll need to head back to camp to enjoy a dinner of soft tacos, burritos, quesadillas, and chips and salsa. Fiesta time! What a busy day; we'll sleep well tonight!

Wednesday

Yankee Doodle Canyoneering

Today we'll start things off right with a breakfast of pancakes, eggs, and fruit to get fueled for this morning's adventure. We're off to Yankee Doodle Canyon for some more canyoneering--we'll be pros pretty soon!

Sand Hollow Swimming/Exploring

Then we'll have our yummy sack lunches and head back to camp to enjoy the rest of the day at Sand Hollow swimming and having fun with our friends. Paddle boarding anyone? This evening, we will have a dinner of pasta with two kinds of sauce along with meatballs, green beans and, of course, topped with lots of parmesan cheese!

Thursday

Zions/Emerald Pools Hike

Today will start with a breakfast of build-your-own breakfast burritos with selections such as eggs, potatoes, cheese, sausage, and salsa. Mmmmm. Then we're off to Zions to do the Emerald Pools Hike. The 2 mile round trip trail leads to sparkling waterfalls and glistening pools. Majestic sights can be seen all along the trails, including views of Lady Mountain, the Great White Throne, and Red Arch Mountain. What a great way to spend the morning!

Virgin River Tubing/ Shopping/Pizza Dinner

We'll eat our sack lunches as we get back to town, and then we'll be ready to tube down the Virgin River! It will be a blast to hop on big tubes to float the river through Springdale with our friends. After we are done, we'll dry off and shop a little in town for a souvenir or two before we head to the local pizzeria to enjoy a delicious Italian dinner before we head back to camp. What an awesome day!!

Friday

Take Down/Travel

It's time to pack up, say goodbye to the amazing red rock scenery, and head home...but first, we'll have a breakfast of cold cereal, muffins, granola bars, fruit and PB toast to fuel us for the busy morning. Once we're nice and full and camp is taken down, we'll hop on Archie and head back toward Salt Lake.

Kanarraville Falls Hike

On the road home, we'll stop at Kanarraville Falls to hike and swim. It's a short hike to waterfalls and pools in a beautiful little canyon. We will get to climb up waterfalls and slide down mossy rock slides. After some fun, we'll get dry and continue our trip home, eating our sack lunches on the road. It was an amazing week full of beauty, friends, and memories we'll never forget!
